Magic Academy Game Review

A magically fun search and find
by Vincent Mysliwiec

In Magic Academy you follow the story of freshman Annie who is investigating the disappearance of her older sister, Irene. The game is definitely influenced by Harry Potter and captures much of its magical theme successfully. As you progress thru the story you will meet a number of characters in many magically themed rooms on the school grounds. There are a number of high quality game types and minigames that keep Magic Academy fresh and engaging!

The art and interface is highly polished with adequate music that keeps the magical theme fun and immersive. One area where I feel the game shines is that in the main game type where you?ll be searching for assorted magical objects. The items are well placed believably in the room as opposed to other games of this genre where the objects are unrealistically hidden against the background image. It?s nice to not have to look thru the details of the wall or curtains to make sure you aren?t overlooking an object that should be placed on the ground!

Another win for Magic Academy is thru the use of the hint button. Instead of having a number of hints that can be exhausted they use a meter button that slowly replenishes itself after being used. That simple design makes it so that you?ll never end up searching to a frustrating infinity for an object. Genius!

Magic Academy follows the formula of search and find games and does it to a high degree of quality and freshness that it deserves your enrollment.
