Dream Day Wedding Game Review

A uniquely themed game of love and repetition
by Vincent Mysliwiec

Dream Day Wedding is a search and click game themed after marriage and all the preparations associated with the modern day wedding. You play the role of an anonymous friend of Jenny, the bride-to-be, and your job is to assist her by going to various wedding shops and searching for items. The progression of the story is told cleverly thru a wedding album where the further you go into the album the closer you get to the wedding day and deeper into the story behind the bride and groom. The game has a number of additional minigames between shops and there are subtle reward systems like the ability to upgrade the honeymoon or having the marriage continue to the golden anniversary.

One big drawback of Dream Day Wedding is that it gets repetitive very fast. First you?ll notice that you might be looking for the same item in a completely different shop. Then you?ll repeat the same shop later in the wedding album. And by this time the narrowed music selection should be evident.

There are two areas that I personally found the game frustrating. The first is that I found many of the items I was looking for to be very random like blueprints or an abacus. Not a lot of people know what an abacus is. Fortunately Dream Day Wedding offers hints to help. The second item I found to be frustrating was that there is no real world consistency in the scale of the objects you will be looking for. You might look for a small ladybug and then a CD and the size of the image of the CD will be smaller than the ladybug! You?d assume the CD would be bigger and gear your search accordingly only to use the hint button many minutes later.

Dream Day Wedding does have a nice interface and storyline. If you can look past all the repetitiveness and want a uniquely themed game based on love and marriage then Dream Day Wedding is your match made in gaming heaven!
