Cradle of Rome Game Review

Build Rome a match at a time!
by Thomas Mysliwiec

To build any great empire you must first start with a good foundation. Here Cradle of Rome was designed around a match three concept. Just line up three matching game pieces and watch them explode off the board. The layout of the game changes with each new level but your mission in clear. Make a match above every blue tile to progress to the next puzzle. Matching certain game pieces will add to your wealth, building supplies or food which in turn adds to your ability to build different fortifications ranging from saw mills, wind mills and later on to the Parthenon and Coliseum. Environments are done well and the game constant reward system will have you playing just to get that much more gold for your next roman landmark!

In addition to the strategy of matching, Cradle of Rome features special power-ups that will aid your quest to remove those hard to clear blue tiles. Citizens will flock to your settlement as you construct a beautiful Rome, a civilization and a game that is hardly forgotten.
